Kinbook

Privacy policy

Last updated November 2, 2026. Applies to the Kinbook app for iPhone and iPad.

Kinbook keeps your care records on your device and nowhere else. We don't collect, receive, store, sell or share any of your information.

What we collect

Nothing. Kinbook has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app doesn't connect to the internet to send anything you enter.

What the app stores on your device

The care plans, medications, dose records, pill counts, appointments, questions, tasks, journal notes, health details and pill photos you enter. They're saved in a single file inside the app. iOS encrypts that file whenever your device is locked. The file is excluded from iCloud and computer backups.

Reminders

If you turn on reminders, iOS schedules them on your device. By default they don't name the medication or appointment, so nothing private shows on your lock screen. You can change this in Settings & privacy. Marking a dose as given from a reminder asks for Face ID or your passcode first.

Photos and camera

If you add a photo of a pill, it's stored with your other records on your device. The camera opens only when you choose to take a photo. Photos you pick from your library are copied in only when you choose them; Kinbook can't see the rest of your library.

Care summaries

A PDF care summary is created only when you ask for one, and goes only where you choose to send, save or print it.

Backups

If you make a backup, Kinbook creates a file encrypted with a passphrase you choose and saves it wherever you pick. We can't open it, and we can't recover a forgotten passphrase.

Face ID, Touch ID and passcode

These are used only to unlock the app. iOS handles them, and Kinbook never receives your face or fingerprint data.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your records stay on your device until you delete them. In the app, Settings & privacy > Delete all data removes everything, and deleting a care plan removes that person's records. Deleting the app also removes everything. Backup files and summaries you saved elsewhere are yours to delete. Because we hold no data, there's nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Health information

Kinbook doesn't use HealthKit, doesn't store health information in iCloud, and never uses your information for advertising, marketing or research.

Children

Kinbook isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the copy inside the app, and change the date at the top.
